Parish Virtual Plans - FYI

Dear Parents,
The virtual plans from the parish for Monterey High School are as follows: Today and Wednesday, buses will run at noon delivering lunches and learning packets. Students or parents should be waiting at the bus stops to receive the lunches or learning packets or to return learning packets on Wednesday. Completed work will be used to count as attendance during virtual learning for those students without wifi. Students are required to login daily for virtual class periods or get a learning packet. Assignments will be posted to google classrooms. Students need to check emails and look at the schedule provided by the teacher. Parents may come and pick up chromebooks for grades 3rd through 12th and learning packets from 12 to 2 today and will need to contact the teacher for an alternate time. Please continue to check the Monterey High School Website and MHS facebook and Classdojo for updates.

MHS Parents and Community

On January 7, 2022, the CPSB met and voted to have all schools in Concordia Parish switch to Virtual learning beginning Monday, January 10, 2022. All students will remain home beginning Monday. You will receive information regarding your student's virtual materials and/or directions on Monday, therefore virtual learning will begin on Tuesday, January 11th.
We will send details to you as soon as possible with a JCALL. As a reminder, you can reach out to your child's teacher on Monday via class dojo or through your or your child's CPSB email or google classroom. Also check MHS Facebook and MHS Website for additional information daily.
Athletics will continue as scheduled but MASKS will be required to be worn at events at MHS and when visiting the school.
We are working hard to ensure every opportunity for each student's academic success and also keep everyone safe.
Thank you,
MHS Faculty and Staff

Written notes by parents - Procedures

Parents, please follow the policy in the student handbook. Written parent notes are required and should be turned in by 12 pm if you are making a bus change, car rider change, or student is staying for practice after school. We ask that parents not DOJO or email teachers or staff to make changes. In the past, emails or DOJOs were not checked before school let out and then the student wasn't where they needed to be.

The policy set forth in the handbook protects you, your child, and the school by having a procedure to follow and it needs to be followed.

Thank you for working with us on this matter.

ATTENTION

Due to liability issues – We are not to take phone calls, text messages, etc. from parents to change to a regular afternoon mode of transportation. THE CHILD MUST HAVE A NOTE from parent TO GO FROM CAR RIDER TO BUS RIDER AND FROM BUS RIDER TO CAR RIDER.
We ALSO must have a note from parent if place of drop off changes on the bus. The note MUST be signed by the teacher and sent to the office to be signed by the Principal or Asst. Principal. The bus driver will NOT drop a student off at any place other than regular place of drop off without a note with proper signatures. If a student is in grades 6-12 the note only needs to be signed by the Principal or Asst. Principal – not teacher. No changes permitted after 12 pm.

1st bell- students for the Pickup Line
2nd bell- Driving Students and/or siblings that ride with student drivers.
