I am excited to be serving Monterey High School as Administrative Assistant this school year, along with teaching 6th grade Math classes and a College Prep course for our Juniors! I am a graduate of Monterey High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, grades 1-8, from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. I also received my Master of Education degree with a certification in Educational Leadership from Northwestern State University. This is my 17th year of teaching, five of which I have taught at Monterey High School.
I live in Monterey where my husband and I farm. We have three children, all of whom attend Monterey High School. I am motivated by the hope that my children and students are inspired to set their own goals in life and work towards achieving them. I am also motivated by helping others find and use their strengths in order to be the best version of themselves.
As an educational leader, I plan to inspire others, help others find their strengths, as well as using my own, and use effective communication in order to review data, set goals, and come up with a plan to reach those shared goals. Working together is of upmost importance and I plan to encourage the formation of a shared vision and work towards achieving that. Thank you for placing your trust in me and working with me to continue the success of our school, which in turn, benefits the success of our community!
I am happy to start my 15+ year in education in Concordia parish. The school years are an exciting time when children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. Each year will provide important transitions and the acquisition of new skills that will enhance each student’s ability to apply learning in many ways. MHS is committed to providing a challenging and rigorous curriculum that helps each student progress at a developmentally appropriate rate and provides a safe environment for all students.
I value life-long learning and aim to make your child’s learning experience at MHS an engaging and memorable time. As the administrative assistant of Monterey High School, I believe that it is my responsibility to maintain and to continue to build a supportive and collaborative spirit at our school. Together as a school community, we will build on the traditions of the past and meet the challenges of the future in innovative and exciting ways.
