Dear Monterey Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at Monterey High School! I hope you enjoyed a summer vacation filled with fun and exciting events. We are thrilled to welcome all of you back to a new school year of learning and growing.
I am grateful and elated to continue this journey with you as your Principal. I have had the chance to meet many of you and your children, and look forward to continue building a strong relationship with all of you in the upcoming year. As we enter this new school year, I want to let you know that our staff is ready and willing to engage your child in great learning experiences to help them grow in all areas. We believe that every person, including all MHS faculty, should always be growing and learning. Despite obstacles that may arise, we must always believe in our ability to rise above challenges and come out stronger on the other end.
As demands and complexities of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our children reach their potential. We believe that all of us must work together in an extended family environment to insure success for all our students. We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible.
With that in mind, you are invited to be an active participant at Monterey High School. Whether you are a faculty member, parent or guardian, member of PTO, or member of our community, you are encouraged to be involved! Research on schools clearly demonstrates that parent participation in their child’s school coincides with a greater likelihood of academic success for their child.
It is our desire to keep you informed of all that is taking place at school. Up-to-date and additional information will appear on our school web page and marquee. If you have any questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to give your child’s teacher or me a call. I look forward to having a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family.
Dena P. Hale, Principal
